I just released the 1.5.1 version of AVBlog.
AVBlog now comes in three versions:
This version fix many bugs you pointed out, i tested it on Railo and Blue Dragon too and it works just fine, a part from a search engine problem that still exists if you use XML as storage with Railo.
Please let me know for any other problem you can find, remember that the SVN is the right place to find the latest versions and to use the Google Code facilities for Issue tracking and submission.

- AVBlog: The full featured version, it has all plugins and external software (located in the /external and /plugins folder) with a size of 5.290 KBytes.
- AVBlog Lite: It has no plugins and only Dojo in the /external folder (so you can use Ajax features) with a size of 2.215 KBytes
- AVBlog Basic: It has no plugins and no external software (so no Ajax too) with a size of 1.245 KBytes
