AVBlog lite

Together with fine tuning on AVBlog i'm starting to work on an AVBlog lite version which i'd like to be compatible with every Cold Fusion compiler java based.

Now i've Cfxm 6.1, Cfmx 7.01, Blue Dragon and Railo configured on my notebook each on a Jrun instance so i can test AVBlog lite on any of this compiler.

I really do not know how the final result will look like, i think only to remove some of the Bell & Whistle stuff of the full release and to leave a thin Blog application with broader compatibility.

Automated Pings

AVBlog uses the invaluable xmlrpc.cfc component from Roger Benningfield for XML-RPC remote calls to authomated ping service.

In the config folder of AVBlog there is a file, ping.cfm with this code:

adding new ping services, like Technorati, for example, it's as easy as adding an address line in the code like this:

You can add as many services as you want, and when you add or modify a post you can choose to ping one or more of these services.

In next version i'll release a more user-friendly way to add ping services, probably by using the administration form.

Some requests

Hi,

if you'd like to help in improving AVBlog you can:

write the xml files for other languages (all xml language files are in the languages folder)
write skins
write to me for any enhanchements request; when the project will be well established and if someone will be interested i'll put avblog on SVN (but not at once, i'd like to avoid the errors made on cfxml_blog).

AVBlog 1.0 released

Finally the 1.0 version of AVBlog is out.

I'm still writing some docs so please be patient.

AVBlog requires Cold Fusion 7 in order to work.

I'm currently fixing some minor bugs and i plan to release the 1.0 version of AVBlog on December 11.
