Caching

Just added file based caching on AVBlog, as expected performance are far superior.

I used an old tag (originally created by Fabio Serra) that i modified for using in the blog.

Updates

Next week i'll release the 1.0 version of AVBlog; main differences with the previous Beta (besides obvious bug fixing) are:

Support for Private Blog
Authomatic ping to ping services like Ping-o-Matic
New CMS plugin for basic CMS functionality (i created it as i'll use it for on-line documentation).

I'm also building Database SQL Scripts, actually i still do not know how many and for what DB Engine i'll provide a script for.

AVBlog info

I'm sorry as no documentation is provided with the beta, here some points:

AVBlog actually works only with CFMX 7 (the Admin section use Flash Forms, i've not tried it with CFMX 6.1)
The officiale AVBlog address is now http://www.avblog.org
AVBlog 1.0 will be released under GPL license

Beta 3 is out

Beta 3 is now available for download.

New in this release:

Text search (using Verity in case of XML storage)
Comments and Trackbacks moderation
Java locale supported
FCKEditor updated to 2.1.1
Multilungual support for Calendar, TinyMCE and FCKeditor

I plan to release the AVBlog 1.0 by the end of November, at this time i do not think to release
a Release Candidate of AVBlog.

Oguz is using the Beta 2 online

I've to thank Oğuz Demirkapı how has started using AVBlog even if it's still in beta status. He wrote already some posts and actually is helping me with bug fixing.

His new english blog is already aggregated by MXNA and i'm really proud of it.

Search function added

I've added the search function to AVBlog; it will use Verity if XML is selected as storage system.

Verity seems to work quite well and i'm very happy with it, it indexes XML files without any problems and it seems pretty fast too.
